Both events will be hosted by Regions of Africa, an organisation that is focused on working with all the five African Regions: Northern Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa, Western Africa and Southern Africa in Western Australia. The aim of this group is to drive the African continent to self-sustainability by using resources available to the continent. Every year the project focusses on working with the community and individual groups that are influencing change and having a positive social impact in the African continent.
Regions of Africa is proud to inspire and promote diversity in the African and Australian communities as well as to provide a platform for organising various events which promote community engagement, career and business development, support mentorship programs, promote African culture and strengthen the relationship between Australians and Africans through positive involvement. The conference is to be an inaugural event that will bridge borders through Education between Australia and Africa. The event in Perth is expected to attract over 150 delegates from over 50 organisations, including speakers, exhibitors and delegates. Approximately 18-20 percent of attendees will come from overseas, and about one-third of Australian attendees will come from interstate and two-thirds from Western Australia. The conference will attract experts from different industries including education sectors, schools, higher education and vocational education and training, as well as government representatives, NGO staff and private providers. The exhibition is to attract at least 20 organisations. The gala has been described as one of the most exhilarating social events in Perth. The affair will be attended by personalities from the fashion, music, arts and government departments, including Ministers, Ambassadors and High commissioners from across the Australian and African continents. The event is promised to be an extravaganza filled with fashion, entertainment, live music, dance and an international cuisine. It will be widely photographed, reviewed and talked about. The event will include pre-dinner drinks and a formal dinner. Guests will have the opportunity to network and enjoy learning about the Australian and African cultures.
Both events will bring Africans and Australians together to promote and celebrate collaboration.
