About ASTIC
What is ASTIC about and who is it for?
The Africa Skills, Trade and Investment Conference is to run from 9AM-4PM on August 30th, 2018 at Novotel Perth Langley Hotel on Adelaide Terrace, followed then by a university tour and the Africa Gala Ball the next day.
The conference will discuss such important topics as student-led marketing, promoting international markets, closing the skill gap in Africa, developing pathways for foreign direct investment, building networks and providing investment opportunities, future-oriented skill development in Africa, boosting international education, and promoting diversity and supporting international students.
This event will be a major opportunity for international students, international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, industries, governments, policy makers and other stakeholders to learn about major industry trends and development, the possibilities to be had in the growing fields of trade and investment; and will also be an opportunity to network with Australian and international colleagues.
The conference will be held by the esteemed organisation Regions of Africa: a community dedicated to furthering ties between Africa and Australia in trade, business, education, tourism and community empowerment. Education
Higher Education (International Students)
Regions of Africa provides a platform for those seeking higher education in Australia. Our organisation introduces international students to the benefits of studying here, along with study costs, information on what it’s like to live in Australia, as well as potential courses that meet the same registration and accreditation standards as in other countries.
We provide a well-rounded international student program which prides itself on community engagement, cultural sensitisation and awareness. Regions of Africa gives international student members the opportunity to stay in the loop on community programs and events, business functions, mentorships, job opportunities and community integration.
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Regions of Africa has partnered with Australia colleges to provide a variety of different vocational education and training, including trade and office work, retail, hospitality and technology. All programs are designed to equip students with the necessary workplace-specific skills and knowledge to succeed in their field of study.
Apprenticeship
We provide immediate access to apprenticeship information for apprentices, employers and apprenticeship support network providers.
Post-school education and training information regarding their programs and services is also provided. ROA provides assistance for industry, business and employers, individuals, trainers and practitioners, skills recognition and international connections.
Industry
Mining
Our organisation understands the importance of Australia and Africa’s mining industries. A more developed Africa is visioned through the further utilisation of Africa’s resources. Regions of Africa is determined, therefore, to partner with government leaders and the mining industry to strengthen industry bonds.
Technology
We wish to encourage businesses and communities to seek different innovative approaches to utilising resources through available technology.
